The Firm

Desjardins & Company, Chartered Accountant, was formed in 1979 and has been involved directly with microcomputer hardware and software since the birth of the PC in the very early eighties. We were the first in the area, and amongst the first in the province, to convert from manual bookkeeping, accounting and word processing to a fully automated information system.

A founding member of the Information Technology Interest Group of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants in 1992, Ray Desjardins, CA·IT served on the executive of this national organization for a number of years. He writes a weekly technology column called TechTips for the IT-Alliance - a national organization of Chartered Accountants who are involved in computer consulting and is the editor of Technology Update - a regular column in the Member Advisory area of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta website. In January of 2004, Ray received his specialist designation in Information Technology from the Canadian and Provincial Institutes of Chartered Accountants.
